all in all. the movie wasn't as good as expected. been hearing raving reviews about it so it came as a disappointment when it didn't quite meet up to expectations.

but i never did like kungfu panda 1 in the first place.

we should have just gone to watch x-men: first class or hangover 2 instead!

weird dream

today i woke up to a strange dream.

i haven't dreamt for a really, really long time. probably half a year or maybe a year...

was pretty bummed that the one dream i had after what seems like ages...was...how do i say this...morbid?

i don't quite recall most of it...

i vaguely recall i had some lover far far away and somehow, during the time of waiting, i developed some weird illness...don't know what disease i was suffering from but what i remember most clearly was the scene where one of my fingers dropped off due to the disease...

that totally scared me.

it felt real but in a painless kind of way...if that's even possible.

after that happened, everything else in the dream just became a blur.

what a dream nightmare.

p.s. i haven't even watched any gruesome movies for a longgg while, i have no idea why my dream's so morbid! why couldn't i have dreamt of some romantic comedy with me as the leading lady instead?!! argh. why did it hafta be "SAW 5" with me as the lead! i hate dreaming.

we went to *scape to support our sub-zone's very own superstar Kelvin Loh!

haha, we are hard core fans ;)

haha, contestant with lotsa diva style. he sang to the tune of Justin Bieber's "Baby".

he was v entertaining.

myrna, char & i were amused & impressed, we were disloyal for a while and started cheering him on. haha.

 and finally contestant #12 - Kelvin Loh

we were cheering like crazy.

think he probably won hands down on most enthusiastic supporters. 

i loved her! i thought she was one of the best performers tonight! awesome rendition of "Bigspender". Big woman with big vocals.

and yes, i cut my hair, the shortest in a long, long while. was too chicken to cut it any shorter.

SUNDOWN MARATHON

it was a long night.

the organisation of the marathon was pretty bad cause there were massive traffic jams for those trying to get to the route to start off their race.

ex-buddy, GAY, said she had to walk 3km just to get to the starting point.

thank goodness me & addy decided to reach there late, say 1ish in the morning. by then,the traffic jams had already died down. we didn't wana end up waiting too long. the only bad part about reaching late was missing out on local band GOODFELLAS :(

oh well, we decided to entertain ourselves with free candy floss (god knows how long i've eaten this) and HTHT.

by the time my minute hand was inching towards 2.48am, addy was urging me to call wp to ask where the heck he was...lol. felt kinda bad for having to rush him, so i decided to send a short text "Heys, hurry up, sleep can't wait. lol. Are you almost done? Haha.quick quick!"

15 mins crept by and we were dozing off from the Uefa match on the big screen...no offense but we had zilch interest for anything soccer or football...actually what's the difference? :S i hope that's not a bimbotic question cause i kinda don't really know.

Addy was  halfway in dreamland already cause she was wayyy past her bed time, i was a tad sleepy but not so much cause i'm practically nocturnal...anyway, so then we called him like 5-6 times and finally managed to get him on the phone.

"Where are you?"

"1km from the finishing line"

that was when we quickly rushed to the finishing line.

on hindsight, think we kinda pressured him into dashing to the finishing line with our impatience. lol.

with our free candy floss.

there were tons of people, the atmosphere was great. felt so inspired to run...

the winning guy ran a guntime of 2hr 50+ mins...freaking fast, it was just crazy.

saw yuan kang there too, his second time running full marathon!

after getting a light breakfast at Geylang (some famous tau huay place), i immediately dozed off the moment i got home.

and because i felt so inspired to run...

i forced persuaded vicki into joining Shape Run (10km) with me. haha.

she suggested trying for 21km initially but there was no way i was going to agree to running 21km.

i'm the student who used to have difficulty passing 2.4km in school, always wanted to strangle the teacher for making us run during PE sessions and declared running to be the most disgusting sports ever invented...

it's a miracle that now i actually run out of my own free will in the gym...

10km will be a good enough challenge for me.

hopefully i don't back out!

(i think i might now that i'm thinking more rationally)

just went to support my mami & daddy at their music performance.

was really reluctant to go initially....

but my dad sounded like he wanted us to be there for them...

"What time does it end?" me

"10+" dad

"what time does it start?" me

"7pm" dad

"Where is it?" me

"Bukit timah cc" dad

"Huh....where is that? how do i go??" me :(

"You can take cab there" dad

"wah, too much money hor...then are you giving me the cab fare?" me (lol, k, i know it sounded rude and all, but i was just trying to get out of going....hmm, k, v unufilial :S but! i did support them quite a number of times before this already!)

dad laughs. (my dad is used to me saying things like that, i can be very sarcastic sometimes, but he knows it's just a joke...sometimes not)

[took an afternoon nap and dad came into my room in the midst of my nap]

"i going off already k, here's the ticket, the concert starts at 7pm. here's 10 bucks, i cya later k" dad

that was when i realised he REALLY wanted me to go, even gave me cab fare! lol. that's when my conscience hit me and i decided to be the good daughter and attend their concert. so there i was alone, with a hall filled with elderly men and women and a handful of young people listening to oldies, met some of my parents' friends, made friends with a friendly old lady who does line dancing, singing, belly dancing (amazing huh?!)...there were some good performers, some bad, but i guess the singing just wasn't my era.

but i really do admire my parents' spirit for learning. they are an inspiration to me in terms of their constant desire to enrich themselves. my dad loves to sing and they are willing to spend a few days a week just to attend singing lessons. they are model examples for the chinese saying "huo dao lao, xue dao lao" (lifelong learning).


i'm proud of them :)
