post grad trip updates

Been pretty slack since coming back from grad trip, i haven't gotten the high-quality photos from wp so i'll postpone talking about it till this weekend when i meet up with them.
------------
finally, went back to church on sunday! so great to be back in the house of the Lord again :) i'm happy! it was soo nice to see my cell group again, and i got a souvenir from Myrna, it's a cute little jewellery stand! i've been wanting one of these for the longest time! thanks so much, hun! then there was a church event "60 secs of Fame Redux" that day, and we all went to roland seafood restaurant for lunch and performances! sophie and jieyun sang "Breakable" and "Love song" respectively and they both did great :) awesome singing! and there was charles on the guitar and chris playing the keyboards, they did a rendition of "Everything" by Michael Buble, one of my fave songs of all time! there were also games which were fun, though our cg didn't win, lol. and the food was pretty good considering the price we paid. all in all, it was great!

-----------
after which, i went to catch "Monsters vs Aliens", omg. it was the most boring thing i've seen in years. seriously. maybe it was because of the 3d glasses that we had to put on that made me incredibly sleepy throughout the show, but oh gosh. i don't think i've slept so much through a movie before.

caught up with friends and went shopping in town these past few days, lol, i've already visited orchard about 3 times since i got back. it's crazy. i think i never get sick of town or something, i actually miss the cheaper prices in Singapore. Europe wasn't exactly the place for cheap shopping!
--------------
celebrated ann's birthday on tuesday together with alvin, we went to this kinda "atas" thai-spanish fusion restaurant, Limon, behind raffles hotel. the food was kinda weird, but i guess fusion food in general just has a weird-ness to it. if clashing tastes is your cup of tea, you might actually like this place, lol. food aside, the atmosphere was great, though seats are awfully limited, they do have a large selection of wines.

the seats were super cosy and piled in an adundant supply of cushions...abit too much though, the cushions occupied half the sofa, i was almost falling off the seat. lol. the weirdest food that day had gotta be the shot of soup. it was just a very eccentric concoction of carrots, cucumbers, and all sorta veges and a little white wine! the grossest part was that it was served cold. eww. honestly, if i wasn't feeling very kind that day, i might have just told the manager how awful it tasted. it was given as a complimentary dish but gosh, i'd pay them not to serve me that weird dish.

However, other than that weird soup, the other dishes were alright. lobster soup with a tinge of curry taste, diced salmon in some chilli padi sauce, spanish rice with tom yam paste and seafood and king prawn pad thai.

Weirdest soup ever!

Me with Ann, the pretty birthday gal!

went to s.tei to celebrate yean ling's birthday today, jie shan baked super yummy oreo cheesecake and we had our usual jap fare. had a fun time catching up with all my gorgeous sec school gals! looking forward to our Bangkok trip, hopefully we can get a cheap deal :) will inform you gals when i've checked up on the prices! Maybe this year our dream of travelling together may actually come true! haha, we've been talking about it for ages!
