today i was working on a job...

was just documenting a journal entry...

and i must have been half-asleep while doing it...

because this was what i wrote...

omg, i almost wanted to faint in embarrassment when i saw it! thank goodness my senior had yet to review my work!

i must have been dreaming abt pay day :S

anyway, i'm finally coming to my last week in audit! i am so thankful for this opportunity because i truly feel that i have learnt so much from this short stint. I was given the chance to complete whole sections on my own, now i know all the sections in the audit file! lol, i say it like it's a skill :S now i know exactly what accountants do and i've got a feel of how accountants document the invoices, the purchase orders, the receipts, the payment vouchers, how there are so many accounts i've never heard of that serve operational purpose, etc. 

Now i know how businesses operate, i know how companies document their cash receipts, cash payments, how they recognise different items on the balance sheet. it's all so interesting! i never knew that i would actually enjoy audit considering i was never good at accountancy (a terrible confession from an accoutancy grad).

of course, the long hours in the audit profession contines to bug me and will forever remain the reason why i would never consider audit as a career choice BUT i really do think that it's very challenging and enriching. I believe i've developed a slightly more questioning mind; is the person signing the cheque also keeping the cheque book? could there be circumstances where the cheque issuer could commit fraud by issuing cheques to himself if the person keeping hold of the cheque book is also him? what's the use of recording this item? Is there a liability to pay yet?

In audit, i get to see so much more of the company, i practically get to learn about every function of the company within a matter of a few weeks. It's no wonder auditors are valued for their experience and knowledge. Given a few years experience, i think they'd be experts at spotting and implementing controls.

I think it has trully been God's blessing that i've been able to learn so much in such a short time and not having to do much administrative, "rubbish" work. i look forward to work every day and i seldom tire out despite the long hours. 

The colleagues have been super nice and  i've been blessed with super good supervisors and seniors! I think i'm gonna get fat from all the free lunches and tidbits they bought for me, lol.

It's indeed been a wonderful journey!

DATE NIGHT is such a good comedy,

we never expected it to be that good...

honestly, i laughed till my tummy hurt so bad (felt like i'd just done 200 situps in one sitting and my flabby tummy just developed 2 packs...lol)

flagging down a cab to our dinner place...

and whaddya know...

we camwhored.

it's almost a ritual when estelle, wp & i hang out.

i look like a blowfish here! gosh. horrendous looking.

sugarcane looks good!! haha, we could even make dirt look cool.

the very, very, very yummy crayfish...

i literally licked the plate clean of all the cereal bits.

it was that good.

it's almost like food orgasm.

i wanted to chew off the entire crayfish shell because the crust was just soooo goood.

a pity my stomach probably wouldn't be able to take it if i really did try swallowing the shell.

if only i was a shark for that one hour...

i could just devour every remnants of the dish.

hehe, i was happy. they gave me 2 pieces out of 4!
