A Month into PA

...

....

(these were the biggest, sweetest strawberries i've ever tasted....)

WHOHOO! It's exactly a month since i've started PA! I've definitely learnt alot of stuff in my tax department, and hearing the many mundane things that other students are doing on their internships (e.g. cutting papers, watching videos, etc.) I'm glad i was posted to a small audit firm cause now, i can confidently say that i've learnt so much about tax, i'm practically doing the tax computations of the entire client firm! Wahaha, i'm sooo in the mood of bragging now! And it's soo fun to hear all the office politics going on and my colleagues complaining about fussy clients and all the *hush hush* personal stuff e.g. how many mistresses the clients have, lolx. I wish i could just blabber about all the itty gritty stuff here, but i don't wana get caught, lolx. The only complaint: Work is gona make me soooo fat!! My colleagues are alwaz passing me tidbits and cookies, chocolate cereals and cheesecakes that they made!! ARHZ!

Haven't been updating as often as it's been a hectic week and everytime i'm back home, i'm so tired and sleepy, all i wana do is snuggle up in bed. Anyway, we celebrated Sarah's birthday at some Japanese restaurant at Boat Quay on Friday! It was so nice to see her again, and there were Cali, Myrna, Yan Ping and my dearie roomie JOJO! Had a great girl's time out with my buncha girls and ate the most sinful breadtalk chocolate cake that ended up looking like a piece of shit after we butchered it, lolx.

The cutie Cali, The Arty Farty Sarah & Prettie Myrna!

My salmon set meal which was really ex while the serving size was considerably small, not that i managed to finish it, but that's beside the point...

Us!! I still remember all the crazy JC days when sarah, yan ping and i tried ways and means to escpae from school!! The most memorable... the day when we borrowed the black trash bags from the school auntie and wrapped it ard our heads while dashing through the school gates in the heavy rain...*chuckles*...the poor security guard was hollering after us!! HAHAHA....those were the days man....sarah and yan ping are truly the Masters of Mischief!!

Errr, lolx, yar, that WAS the delicious chocolate cake until we decided to set it on fire with a burning tissue paper!! Thank goodness we didn't burn down the whole building :S Oh wells, we could alwaz jump into the Singapore River, no?

AH GONG's BIRTHDAY!!

And then there's my dear ah gong's birthday!! Strawberry shortcake, super yummy and creamy, super SINFUL!! There were lotsa good food as usual chilli crabs, beehoon, duck & grilled chicken, etc. This birthday celebration was kinda more sentimental and more significant for the whole family cause we recently discovered that my ah ma has malignant cancer and she refused to seek treatment so we're not sure how long she has left, my mum is alwaz telling us to go visit her more often b4 we don't have a chance...i feel kinda sad knowing that the ah ma who alwaz cooks for us delicious food and who worried and prayed for me when i met an accident is going to....hmm, i'm just thankful that both my gandparents recently got saved and have been baptised and at least i know now that they'll be in a safe place no matter where they may be. I really should go spend more time with my ah ma as much as possible, my cousin is so filial, she's staying a few days every week for a couple of months to take care of my ah ma. I feel kinda guilty for being so uncaring especially since my cousin is only a year older...I will definitely find time next week to go over to visit my ah ma!

Night out at the Movies!!

And what else?? I went to watch the fantasy, tim-burton-ish show PENELOPE with dear jie shan!! it was really, really good and unexpected! I loved the setting of the whole story, the backgrounds, the clothes and christina ricci! It's about a girl cursed with a pig's snout and who must find someone of the same blood (aristocrat) who will accept her as herself in order to break the curse. The strong, determined penelope goes on her journey of self discovery and learns to love herself. This movie is definitely going into my list of fave movies! And i urge everyone else to watch it too!! If you're looking for your typical romance comedy, this is NOT the show for you, there's more to it and the jokes in the show are witty too. Number of popcorns?? 4/5 popcorns! lolx...i'm a wanna-be radio movie critic!!

And just yesterday, i went to Ding Tai Feng to eat delicious chow fan, xiao long bao, beef noodles and wanton soup with Estelle & WP!! Thanks for the treat, "BFF" even though i think i should be treating you guys cause it's both your birthday celebration, not mine, lolx. And then we went on to P.S. Cafe where we ate pineapple meringue tart with a scoop of ice cream that costed 16+bucks!!! EEeks, crazy man, it tasted like pineapple tarts that i eat on new year's day, lolx, i can get a bottle of it for that price la...money rippers! The toffee scotch cake and vanilla bean ice cream that i ate last week at Marmalade Pantry at Palais Renaissance was better and cheaper, then again, guess we're paying for P.S. Cafe's OC-ish ambience...

Grrr...I wana be a rich tai tai, so i won't hafta complain about pricey food ever again and shop at Palais Renaissance as though it's my second home, lolx. And errm, get a haircut at Passion Salon and have David Gan to personally cut my hair and....(you can tell that i'm dreaming already) buy that 200+bucks fendi(i think) sunglasses i saw the other day at DFS while shopping for KH's rayban sunglasses....jealous, i wish i had money to buy 290bucks sunglasses without blinking an eye too....geeezzz...life is unfair...y can't i be a heiress of some big hotel chain, or some daughter of a real estate tycoon?!!!

Oh oh, and on to another topic, congrats to me cause i finally completed my make-up course!! Haha, it was only 4 weeks of it, i'm acting as though i'm graduating from some diploma course! I learnt quite alot of stuff, and for all the other vain gals like me out there, i heard from my teacher that there's a solution that can make your eyelashes grow by 25% more!! Long, thick eyelashes for only 18bucks!! Anyone wants it, just message me yar, i'll be getting a small bottle myself soon but i gotta email my teacher first and tell her so she can pre-order it. She has alot of good deals for cheaper make-up, which are of good quality cause they are used in make-up schools. For those cheapo people, who don't wanna spend a measely 18 bucks, there's another diy method, use Martell liquer!! NO KIDDING! My make-up teacher says she used to be so vain, she went to try all methods cause her eyelashes were all falling out, and she said that it really works, though.... you'll have to bear with the pain of alcohol getting into your eyes, which will probably hurt quite abit cause it's alcohol-duh! Then again, MARTELL is soooo much more expensive la! Unless you have some extra bottles hanging around at home, in that case...lend me some??

I was really curious about this traditional method so i decided to ask the doctor about it today...

Doctor: "So is there anything else you wana ask about?"

Me: "Yar, i wana ask about hair loss....I've been losing alot of hair recently, especially like after i bathe, and comb through my hair, quite a lot of strands will drop out"

Doctor: *stares at me like i'm some paranoid ass* Err, don't worry, i don't think you're suffering from hair loss,i know some girls get kinda worried but it doesn't seem like there's anything serious with your hair but if you really think you want to boost hair growth, blah blah blah"

Me: "Ohhkkayyy, and I heard Martell helps to boost hair growth..."

Doctor: *stares at me like i'm some paranoid ass AGAIN* *attempts to conceal laughter* "Errr, those are age old myths, martell, soya sauce (i didn't know people actually try putting soya sauce in their hair?!! GROSS!), none of it works, it's just traditional thinking, blah blah blah"

So i left the doctor's room without gaining anything, apparantly my hand scars will vanish in a matter of 6mths to a year and i have no hair loss. AND now the doctor probably thinks i'm some paranoid auntie who believes in stupid myths of hair growth...Thanks a lot, at least he's getting his 115bucks. grrr. Or maybe i should try out the soya sauce....

a busy week

It's my second week into PA and i'm really grateful to the Lord for having blessed me with such nice colleagues :) One of the seniors even made oreo cheesecake for us!! Super yummy and he even printed out the recipe for each of us! Yes! It's a HE, his gf is one hellava lucky girl! Super thoughtful can....

It's been a super busy week so i haven't really been updating. Went for 2 birthday parties this week to celebrate yeanling's, shiqi's and sean's birthdays. It's nice to see every one again, it's really been an amazing week and i'm glad that i'm getting my life back. Days of being cooped up at home all day long is finally seeing light and i can feel the warm, almost unfamiliar breeze of life easing back. It never occurred to me until now that i really do miss everyone back home, i miss hanging out in church, i miss my lovely swiss gang and i miss the awesome presence of God in my life. The accident killed a part of me but time has slowly taken away the pain and it's time to return to life before the accident. I want desperately to leave everything behind and be happy again.

I thank God for helping me get my life back on track and I really want to thank mryna for inviting me back to cell group on wednesday cause it'd really helped me open my heart and pour out all the frustrations that's been cooped up inside. I feel that God sent her as an angel to help get my life back on track and i thank God for blessing me with such a great friend. Thank you Myrna! I love you so, so much! And i love God too. I can slowly feel His presence, his familiar touch of love and grace on my life. I guess for a long time i've been numbing myself to His presence, but i really want to grow with Him now more than ever. Cause now i know that He has been holding me back from that cliff, pulling me and keeping me from tipping...

Oh, and i've already attended 2 sessions of the make-up course i mentioned about previously. My dearie elaine accompanied me for the lessons and i think it's well worth the money cause i think i did actually learn quite abit from the lessons. For example, i learnt what's a toner, lolx, and there's like a million steps to cleansing!! Okay, maybe just abt 10?? I also learnt how to find the natural arch of the eyebrows so i can save my 16bucks on paying a professional to pluck my eyebrows (yay!) and i learnt the different techniques of eyeliner application for different kind of eyes, etc...can't wait to learn more :)

Time for picture post!

Oh, did i mention??! My dad blessed me with a nikon d60!!! Muhaha, i'm gona go crazy taking arty-farty photos and ACT like an arty farty pro photographer!! I wana go haji lane, chinatown, little india and every ulu corners of Singapore and start snapping away!

Meeting up with peeps from church to celebrate the return of yanping and me! yay! And these are two of my lovely and pretty girls, yan ping and myrna!!

The lovely girls from church and a very, very wet sean! My church is filled with pretty girls hor?!! haha, number of suitors can queue to jb already, wahaha.
Birthday girl and guy! Shiqi and Sean! As you get see, they were both drenched from top to toe cause they were pushed into the swimming pool at Sean's new condo! He has like 5 houses la!! Omg, rich kid can! And highlight of the party were the cakes man, super yummy, best birthday cakes ever tasted! Okay, i'm biased, cause i happen to love cheesecakes and tiramisu! And whaddaya know they were both my fave flavours and from Hilton summore...hmmm, craving more of the cheesecake...*licks lips*

Haha, wet sean and gabriel trapped outside cause nobody wanted them near in case they came hugging us! Gabriel's super funny, he reminds me of a livelier version of my bro, haha. When he tried the champagne that Sean brought over, he was like "Eeee, what's this...." lolx. But he's a great guy nonetheless and we all still love him :)

Myrna, as you can see, i stole all the photos from that day from your blog, :S haha, cause i didn't bring my camera, anw, i want the rest of the photos too! Especially the videos from mel's camera of our "shi lian pai" or at least my desperate attempt at catching up with u and sean. I really must kowtow to both of you, u guys really are the king and queens of "shi lian pai". I must practice every night le! Next time, i'll not only be able to keep up with you two, i'll be able to do "er shi lian pai" too!! WATCH OUT MAN!! HAHA.

And as Myrna already mentioned on her blog, yes, i was superbly slow. When they were at no. 6 i was still at no. 2!!! faints. *sheepish*

But all in all, it was fun, and i love hanging out with all of them! AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHIQI AND SEAN once again!!

---- I don't have photos from yeanling's birthday yet, i gotta remind myself to get them from jiesung :S
