Friday Night! Gathering with my fave swiss gals!

we had steamboat & BBQ at vien's place. and gossiped and talked like we alwaz do. we were thinking of a name to call our group now that there's additional members like vien and fion (mich, jieshan, jess & i used to be "toilet gang" cause we were alwaz going for toilet breaks in sec sch! and we alwaz went in a group, lolx. i think our maths teacher was the one who nicknamed us!)

Anyway, i was saying....our new group name....

JS: "We can call ourselves Cliche".... "But a bit cliche la"

Me: "HUh! then we're called cliche?????!"

JS: "Or we can name ourselves "Sunshine" "Flower".... (the list goes on....)

Me: "omg. sunshine girls?!!" *faints*

JS, i'm not laughing at ya, u're super smart and i love ya but i sincerely hope we'll never hafta be called sunshine or flower or whatever names u came up with that day. let's stick to swiss girls. haha.

Jess trying to catch the mandarin oranges from Vien on the upper storey! Apparantly, we're supposed to take home the oranges cause you have to bring luck & good fortune home too, after giving "luck and good fortune"(mandarin oranges) to other people's home. I never knew that. goes to show how UN-traditional my family is. i have no knowledge of all these cultural, traditional stuff. like i've NEVER done spring-cleaning on CNY, I've NEVER went to clean up my ancestral tomb, I've NEVER bought new bedsheets for 10 years (apparantly, some ppl buy bedsheets every year, for what reason i'm not so sure of. come to think of it, this might just be a hygiene issue). there's probably plenty more other traditions that i don't even know of!

and for the sake of new year, i decided to wear red for the first time ever in i don't know how friggin' long! (i don't know why my body looks so contorted :S looks a bit freaky actually)

i managed to catch LOVE MATTERS on the 2nd day of CNY, not very good though...typical local movie, but shabby standard for a jack neo movie...Mark Lee was hilarious as the Thai giggolo calefare though!! SA-WA-DI-KARP!

Went to my ah ma's place for reunion dinner! That's my lil' cousin there, very tomboy but very talented! She can play the piano, the guitar, the drums and whatnot! Super cute! And she's playing my guitar there :)

while we were waiting for the other people to arrive (my mum was damn kiasu this year, we went too early :S) i decided to play my guitar while my sis forced me to camwhore with her! lolx.

My FAVE part - lao yu sheng! Coz u only get to do it on CNY! Any other days and people will think you've gone nuts!

Next Day - New Year's Day! We went to visit our relatives! This year i had much more angbaos cause 3 of my cousins recently got married and they gave me hongbaos! lolx, i felt a bit guilty taking though cause afterall, we're of same status and i don't think they actually need to give me anything. Almost all my cousins around my age are getting married and it feels a bit scary cause i suddenly realised that i'm no longer young and somehow there's some sorta expectation that i'll settle down soon and follow suit. There's already another generation of children starting to evolve in the extended family and while i used to feel like the baby of the extended family, the baton has now been passed on to another generation! It's exciting yet sorta terrifying!

2 of my cousins recently just gave birth to 2 super cute babies!! Yay! i have 2 adorable nephews this year! Look at my nephew!! Omg. he is absolutely adorable!! He has enormous eyes like his daddy! Me and sis wanted to kidnap him and run away with him. I was telling my cousin, who is the mother's sister,

"My sis wants to run away with the baby already!"

"Yar, and my sis will chase after you!" - mother's sis

"Pay me $10 for molesting my baby!" - mother (my cousin)

haha. we couldn't help it. we kept wanting to pinch his cheek and cuddle the little infant! He looks like a poster baby!

it's been decades since i've played a full game of bowling (in fact 2 games this time) ! obviously i still am rotten at the game but at least i think i've improved from ages ago when literally all my bowling balls went straight to the "long kang"! It was rather cheap at marina square, 4bucks for a game and $1 for rental of shoes. recently, i've been more cautious about my spending cause i've been spending money like crazy the past 2 months. I feel so guilty each time i realise i've spent unnecessarily and hence, i've really been trying to cut down on my shopping expenses and money spent on gatherings and outings. I'd even suggest to go hawker centres or foodcourts to eat instead! yup. that's how desperate i am to save. so i was really happy that bowling wasn't expensive, lolx.

At least i maximised the whole 9bucks that i spent. how?? hahaha. first, u hafta understand the way i bowl....

being small, i tend to be abit lacking in...ahem, not height in case u were wondering, thank you very much, it's physical strength. so each time i bowl, the ball would roll at a snail's pace towards the pins, the force exerted is sooo light and neglible to the point where the system doesn't even sense that the pins are down and the bowling ball has already reached the end of the lane! so i get to roll another time, and another, and another....of course if it goes in the long kang then the system would sense that i've rolled already.

ahem. but i still managed to hit the pins and not go into the drain, so quite good already k!


the most embarrassing moment of the day was when i was all ready to take my strike and i already the bowler's pose down pat, the bowling ball slipped out of my hands and rolled backwards, all the way to estelle and wp!!!!! omg. i was soooo embarrassed i ran all the way back to my seat. and they kept laughing at me!!! thank goodness no one else saw! or i would have just quit the whole game and ran to the toilet to hide. lolx.


thankfully, it wasn't only me who did it. while we were into our second game, the girl beside us also dropped her bowling ball backwards!

after our game, we walked abit and went to get ice cream. strawberry and banana flavoured. yum yum!



we then headed home cause i needed to rest awhile before partying all the way through the night! honestly, when i got home, i really just wanted to sleepall through the night instead. lolx.

it's the first time i've entered any club on the guest list, kinda cool cause we got to enter without queuing.

I absolutely fell in love with the interior of Butterfactory! i've been to dbl o, o bar, zouk, phuture, and Butterfactory has by far the best design! and i like the music there too.

After clubbing, we headed down to MACs for a drink and ended up ordering curly fries and nuggets too :) and we saw steph and gang there! haha. such a coincidence!

we talked on and on till around 4am before we all headed home! i had fun! but my feet was badly aching from 24hrs of walking around and dancing in 4inches heels! i need a foot massage now.
