The WHITE RABBIT

Mummy's birthday!

(we love you very, very much! thanks for all the things you have done for us and though we may not show our love very well, you are always dearest in our hearts!)

The total damage:$218

White Rabbit is a restaurant and bar tucked away in a cosy corner off Dempsey Road. It's housed in an awe-inspiring and beautifully restored chapel, with the traditional colour-stained glass panels.

The atmosphere was fantastic. dimly-lit and great for that perfect romantic dinner. But the food was a terrible disappointment to say the least. my gosh, the crab salad tasted like it was served straight out of the fridge. it tasted and smelled weird.

The dinner was definitely not worth it's price.

The Black Forest cake was a pathetic roll of chocolate cream on a scantily scattered portion of truffles and a small lonely scoop of mint chocolate ice-cream. it was just sad.

Oh well. at least the ambience was good. and the ambience almost made up for the sub-standard food served. guess i'm not so much a person for fine dining. i still like my hokkien mee and the traditional "chinese" large portions. lol.

tiny portions are just not my cup of tea.

the restaurant in the day/THE WHITE RABBIT.

went for Jade's grandma's funeral in the afternoon. It's such an irony, having to go for a birthday and a funeral all in one day. Anyway, Jade stay strong! The swiss gals will always be here for ya!

Being at the funeral reminded me of when my ah ma passed away too. it was a sad event despite her being an old lady with 3 generations after her. I guess no matter how old a person is, it's still sad to see them go. And even though you may not be the closest to them, you still remember the little things that they've done for you in your lives, how they've impacted you and then you start to tear up because even though the person is gone, the memories will forever be etched in your mind.

from our chinatown bbq outing last weekend :)

AMAZING BUBBLE TEA!!!
