and that marks the end of my 3rd peak now.
in simplicity, peak signifies approximately 2 months of non-stop work, an average of 3 hours of sleep every day, loss of appetite and accumulation of stress and fatigue leading to excessive loss of hair, dark eye circles, eye bags and an overall negative attitude.
how many more peaks will i be able to deal with?
in all honesty, i don't know. i love tax even after 3 years, but there is a point when fatigue just kills all interest till there is nothing left but distaste.
for now, i'm glad it's over.
i can finally breathe and think about things i really want to do.
and as we've come to the last month of 2011. it's the time of the year to look back and see what we have accomplished over the past year.
but....
i'll leave that till the next post :P
--------------------
Anyway, this is very delayed, but i just wana thank everyone for their birthday well wishes.
i still remember the first call i received was from a very unexpected person.
Joyce dearie :)
haha, knew this lil' gal from choir and she's also a close friend of my sis.
such a sweetie!
a very sweet, caring gal who has really been a great blessing to my life.
----
thanks to Addy, my fave gf from university, for the birthday lunch treat as well, definitely helped to lift my mood in the midst of that dreadful working week.
----
i also wana give thanks to my buddy at work who never fails to amuse me with his antics.
this time round he photoshopped my head onto a picture of Barberella and sent an email blast to my entire office (including my partners)...imagine the shock i had.
when i walked into office after lunch, guess what i saw right on the wall at the entrance of the office...
Geri did this, together with the rest of my juniors. the embarrassment :S
no one would admit to doing it until very much later in the day.
this year round, i got awfully chocolate cake again. along with capital land vouchers and a card.
the best part about birthdays i reckon is reading all the birthday wishes from friends and close ones. it's nice to read the things they write about in the cards, some are touching, some make you reminisce about the past, some are funny, some simply poke fun at you.
but the fact that they are all personal just makes it that much more special. more than any gift they could ever give.
thanks to all my colleagues at work and Vicks and Wei lin for the nice smelling crabtree & evelyn lotion :)
------
wanna thank my awesome sister for the hand-decorated birthday cake & wonderful sunflower.
love ya so, so much girl.
somehow you always know how to make me smile.
Every day i thank God for such a wonderful lil' sister.
------
wana thank my cg members as well for coming down to pass me my presents cause i have been MIA from church for almost an entire month (they made a joke that i'd gone to jupiter and back).
thank you my dearest germaine and lydia for making the effort to come down all the way to Raffles place. love the accessories, i've already started wearing them. love you gals loads.
so happy that i am finally back in church and cg worshipping Christ with the bunch of ya. :D
------
And of course, not forgetting, i wana thank dear for the birthday song over Skype. despite me not having the time to celebrate my birthday, i know you tried to make the best of it. was very sweet of you. you have been the greatest blessing to my life this year :)
All in all, it's during times like this, i am reminded how fortunate i am and that God has brought me so much joy via the angels he has bestowed in my life. I am truly grateful and will always count my blessings so i never take any of this for granted.
