2 Degree Ice Art Exhibition

We decided to do something different that day. Rather than the usual movie dates/lazing at home, we went to check out the ice sculptures at the makeshift convention centre near MBS.

It cost us S$32 per pax with 10% discount for some card...i forgot which though.

The exhibition hall was kept at sub zero degree, specifically -15 degree celsius, using the world's most advanced refrigeration technology from Germany.

20 prominent ice carving master from Harbin, China, were specially invited to carve a variety of iconic world landmarks (e.g. the Eiffel tower).

We posed with raffles hotel....i think?? lol.

melted ice...i could hardly see what it was...

posing with our Merlion.

unfortunately, when we went to for the exhibition, the ice sculptures seemed to have melted slightly and lost some the detailing. As such, many of the sculptures were not that spectacular, which real was quite a pity.

posing with Big Ben ^.^

Considering i spent half a year in wintery Canada where temperatures dropped to crazy lows of -24 degree celsius, you would think that i could deal well with -15 degree celsius but boy...was i freezing my ass off.

i really hate the cold.

i can't stand how my skin dries up like crocodile scaled and how my toes start losing sensation from frostbite.

After barely an hour in the exhibition hall, i had to scatter out of there to warm up.

my lil' penguin(s)...haha.

Happy ending :D

haha, with frozen toes...thanks to my fantastic idea of wearing flats w/o socks.

*pat on back*

sobs.

Overall, the ice exhibition was something different from the usual dates but not really worth the money. I believe it should have been better when it was first opened and the ice sculptures had yet to melt.

In addition, we seemed to have missed out the ice bar :(
