recap of events
last saturday (27 dec) - xmas party at my condo
my condo held the annual xmas party and this year, the committe members decided to invite a prestigious guest speaker, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnum. He made rounds around the estate and alot of people were crowding around him, just to look, take pictures and be kpos rather than to ask questions...i guess it's typical Singaporean behaviour -_-"
as i'm really sleepy right now, i'll just briefly describe some events and head to bed. the party had karaoke, popcorn booth, some game booths and performances by the line dance girls and a city harvest cg(i've forgotten the number though, n28??). They came down to sing xmas carols and i think it was a refreshing idea to reach out to people and also a time to bond. Maybe our cg could do something like that next time! lolx. and then there was....most importantly, free food! haha.
the funniest part of the evening was when my dad heard one of his fave hokkien songs being played, he rushed down all the way from our house to the function room where the dj was. he was sooo anxious to sing his karaoke that when i nudged him and shouted over the music, "Eh! Pa! U run all the way down to sing ur hokkien song arhz?!" He completely ignored me and ran all the way to the function room so he wouldn't miss his chance to sing!! wah seh. so kan chiong. he was so excited, he didn't even recognise his own daughter!!! *faints*
and there's my dad singing his hokkien song for the entire condo to hear, and i will never dare lift my head in public again....:S haha, kidding, he is a good singer actually.
tuesday 30th dec - "Bedtime Stories" & Late night tonning at Changi Airport!
went to watch bedtime stories with my fave comedian of all time, Adam Sandler!!! the show was funny as expected albeit too predictable. not one of the best adam sandler flicks but nonetheless a feel-good flick for those not in the mood for deep, thought-provoking moments.
later in the night, headed down to changi to send jo and yx off the next day! lolx, we played this card game that timo was dying to introduce to us called "Citadel", i turned out quite fun! haha, though we were quite skeptical at first cause it looked mighty difficult to understand at first. i feel tempted to buy one set myself now! haha.
time passed really fast and before we knew it, it was time to send the girls off. and to our horrors, the skytrain was not opened yet and there wasn't any buses at 4am so we had to walk all the way from T3 to T1. lolx. felt like Amazing Race. goes to show how badly in need of exercise i am. geez.
we sent the girls off and headed back home, even though Timo was still enticing us out for Mac Breakfast, lolx. he's like a changed person now, super enthusiastic! haha.
jojo is off to atlanta!! arh!! i wanna go back on exchange again!!
wednesday (31st dec) - Countdown 2009!
went out in the afternoon and later went for sean's countdown party at his place! there was plentiful amount of food(it was potluck!) and games! mahjong, twister, wii, card games! till now, my back and arms still ache from twister and wii boxing. Gab & LW are the experts at twister. geez. i think they probably escaped from the circus, i'm quite certain they are like professional contortionist, haha. they can contort their bodies like nobodies' business! i've never quite seen such weird looking body postures, it was very...errr....eye-opening and jaw- dropping! thanks to their gangly long limbs! i lost to them hands down. they could go on for hours...days maybe.
and i finally learnt back mahjong after 4years?? haha. yay. not such a noob anymore.
whoa. i really am very long-winded, aren't i?? no wonder my friends complained. lolx.
