Pre-CNY Celebrations!!

Bowling with Estelle and WP!!

it's been decades since i've played a full game of bowling (in fact 2 games this time) ! obviously i still am rotten at the game but at least i think i've improved from ages ago when literally all my bowling balls went straight to the "long kang"! It was rather cheap at marina square, 4bucks for a game and $1 for rental of shoes. recently, i've been more cautious about my spending cause i've been spending money like crazy the past 2 months. I feel so guilty each time i realise i've spent unnecessarily and hence, i've really been trying to cut down on my shopping expenses and money spent on gatherings and outings. I'd even suggest to go hawker centres or foodcourts to eat instead! yup. that's how desperate i am to save. so i was really happy that bowling wasn't expensive, lolx.

At least i maximised the whole 9bucks that i spent. how?? hahaha. first, u hafta understand the way i bowl....

being small, i tend to be abit lacking in...ahem, not height in case u were wondering, thank you very much, it's physical strength. so each time i bowl, the ball would roll at a snail's pace towards the pins, the force exerted is sooo light and neglible to the point where the system doesn't even sense that the pins are down and the bowling ball has already reached the end of the lane! so i get to roll another time, and another, and another....of course if it goes in the long kang then the system would sense that i've rolled already.

ahem. but i still managed to hit the pins and not go into the drain, so quite good already k!

the most embarrassing moment of the day was when i was all ready to take my strike and i already the bowler's pose down pat, the bowling ball slipped out of my hands and rolled backwards, all the way to estelle and wp!!!!! omg. i was soooo embarrassed i ran all the way back to my seat. and they kept laughing at me!!! thank goodness no one else saw! or i would have just quit the whole game and ran to the toilet to hide. lolx.

thankfully, it wasn't only me who did it. while we were into our second game, the girl beside us also dropped her bowling ball backwards!

me & lovely estelle!

yay! not in the "long kang"! err, but i think it eventually went into the drain, lolx!

after our game, we walked abit and went to get ice cream. strawberry and banana flavoured. yum yum!

we then headed home cause i needed to rest awhile before partying all the way through the night! honestly, when i got home, i really just wanted to sleepall through the night instead. lolx.

Partying at Butterfactory!!

me & my fave NTU gal, Addy, who was rocking a retro look that day! very hot!

Farrah, our social butterfly got us onto the guest list cause the resident DJ that day was her friend. Meaning NO COVER CHARGE!! WOots! and as Farrah said, "SCREAM WITH ME!" haha.

it's the first time i've entered any club on the guest list, kinda cool cause we got to enter without queuing.

I absolutely fell in love with the interior of Butterfactory! i've been to dbl o, o bar, zouk, phuture, and Butterfactory has by far the best design! and i like the music there too.

The girls - me, addy, farrah & Jas!

Individual "Tequilia shot" shots, we could all make tila tequilia make a run for her money. hurhur.

Farrah perfecting her S-E-X-Y pose!

Non-tequilia shots. Glenn & his friend drinking up the jugs of screwdriver!

On the dance floor!

Glenn and his victory pose! haha.

Ready! All smiles for the cam!

WE LOVE TOILET SHOTS!! HA!!

After clubbing, we headed down to MACs for a drink and ended up ordering curly fries and nuggets too :) and we saw steph and gang there! haha. such a coincidence!

we talked on and on till around 4am before we all headed home! i had fun! but my feet was badly aching from 24hrs of walking around and dancing in 4inches heels! i need a foot massage now.

AND, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

yay, angbaos!! reunion dinners and yusheng!! so excited!

This year is looking real good, firstly, i am going to watch jason mraz, and now i'm going to europe! I'm really gona live my dream!!!

hmmm. maybe i could go find Alev and Meric in Germany!! i miss my exchange peeps!

haha, i guess you're pretty sick of me gushing on and on about Greece so i'd stop for now.

-----------

anw, yesterday i went for Alvin's Bday celebration at Cafe Cartel!

the birthday guy & I! phew, luckily his eyes are not closed in this shot! lolx, he kept closing his eyes in almost every shot we took!

and as evidence...c below!

oh my, i realised it's not only him but johnny too! they all look like they're closing their eyes! haha, oh well, suits me just fine, i don't like big eyed people cause they make me jealous, hahaha.

and guess what?!!! There's a new scandal!!! LOOK!!

oh my...haha, they need counselling le...there was this particular incident when Daniel was at the bread counter(or somewhere around there) and Alvin was saying "Dan's my...wife"and when Dan heard, he immediately responded "Bitch!"(as a joke). But there was a waitress serving us and she was so utterly shocked and she turned to look at Dan...apparantly she thought Dan was scolding her :S

lolx, so throughout the night,we kept telling Dan to apologise to her by offering her a piece of Alvin's birthday cake and asking for her number. hahaha. and btw, the cake was very very delicious, it's from Rive Gauche. i'm not particularly a chocolate lover but that cake was superb!! 5/5! haha.

oh my, wah, alvin has sooo many unglam shots! what the heck was he trying to do??!! lolx. and Ann looks so pretty here! aiyo, he totally ruined the picture!
and what's a food outing without a photo of my food! haha. Pan-Fried Linguine! Nice!
And all together now! The bkt panjang area people! And our dear brother in christ, Alvin, who fetches us every sunday for service! He's super nice!! If not for him, i might still be late for every sunday service :s though i still gotta get up as early as when i took public transport, lolx, cause we'll have breakfast at church. *faints*

haha, but they're good company so i'm most willing to get up early!

------------
kk, done for now. going bowling and butterfactory tomorrow!! and chinese new year is coming!!! yay! more pineapple tarts! and i love family gatherings!!

bringing in the festive year

Shopping at Far East

went out with charmaine & shawn last week to shop. shawn wanted to get the checkered hoodie that she loved so much, so i brought her to the stall but the lady boss was such an ass, shawn decided not to buy from her. I can't stand rude shopowners, aren't the customers always RIGHT? it's a good thing we saw the same hoodie selling along the pushcarts at Far East! and it was cheaper too! Yay! we shopped till nightfall and got quite alot of stuff, especially shawn! hehe, it was fun and honestly, i prefer physical shopping so much more than online shopping even though i probably can get my stuff so much cheaper online but ya know, it's the company that matters! i'd be happy even if i didn't buy any thing :)

My dearest church juniors and i at pasta mania! before heading down to Gelare for yummilicious waffles!

Company Visit

Last friday, i went down for an interview for my group project. we visited a recruitment firm and the boss was lovely. she told us about business and taking risks. I found out from her that the hiring process is actually very stressful, there's irresponsible candidates who purposely miss interview dates or whose conduct are less than desirable, hence they must be very careful in their screening process, interviews have to be made more stringent and databanks have to kept of less credible clienteles.

I think the boss, Lilian, is an amazing and very respectable woman. I truly look up to her as a role model. Before she started her own business, she was an employee in a company and at the age of 44, she got retrenched. However, she persevered on and never let the circumstances overwhelm her. Instead, she decided to venture into the recruitment industry even though she knew nothing about the business. Lilian constantly learned through her mistakes and pick up courses and a diploma in HR even at her age!

I want to be someone like that in the future, someone who can take control of my circumstances and be empowered, someone who will have the urge to learn even when at the age of 50. Though the firm may not be very big but i am amazed at how an ordinary midde-aged woman could take the step of faith and get out of her comfort zone to venture into something so risky and unknown.

Dear God, let me be a woman of power too!

The interview dragged on and on cause we ended up having so many questions for her and Lilian even treated us to Polar cakes!! Super nice! We were damn hungry by then, we started eating the cakes during the interview, haha. Quite inconsiderate now that i think about it but ohhhh welll.

After the interview, i rushed down to meet Lilian no.2, another amazing gal from church! hehe.

Lil' Bro got 2nd at the Science Busker's Festival!

And last saturday, my bro got second in his science competition! whee! (though i kinda expected it cause my bro and his friend are such high achievers, they usually don't go into a competition if they don't expect to win something) The both of them won some contract with the Science Centre but he's in NS now so he can't sign it, lolx. oh well, at least they won 500bucks! Yay! I hope he treats me, though i highly doubt it...

Interior Design Course

Oh, and as i mentioned in my previous entry, i recently signed up for an interior design course and i went for my very first lesson last thursday. (because of it, i am also officially broke, NEED TO SAVE UP FOR GRAD TRIP!) The lesson was really fun, we didn't really manage to design rooms yet but we learnt to do orthographic drawings and i do believe i will enjoy this course very much! My classmates seem nice and they're around my age too, i got to know a lady called Charlene, who's a regional analyst and who used to work in EY. She's just 2 years my senior and she graduated from NTU too!! lolx. I'm so excited i signed up! It's gonna be busy busy from now on but that's my resolution for this semester: to make full use of my time to enrich myself and not just waste anymore precious time, i don't wana ever wanna end up looking back again and thinking that i never did the things i wanted to do :)

arhh! now if only the school will give my discount for the materials, it's gonna cost another 100bucks! omg. i feel like i'm digging a hole through an empty wallet.

P.S. just a few days after attending my interior design course, there was this trendy middle-aged man talking to Lilian at service and he was asking her, "Got any of your friend study design, ask them come over to my company!" and i was right beside her! and the spooky thing is i've been secretyly wishing i could meet this interior designer friend of Lilian ever since i enrolled for my course, lolx. God must have heard my tiny request cause it was too much of a concidence! Apparantly, he designs for alot of MediaCorp artistes like Chen Hanwei! cool! yay! at least now if i've got any queries about the prospect of a design career, i know who to turn to :)

Shopping at Bugis with church gang

went shopping with nathan, charmaine, liang wei, myrna and daniel on sunday! it was very crowded and i nearly died in the stampede in bugis village. fine. that's an exagerration. but honestly, i felt like the whole of singapore was there to shop for cny clothes! we went around helping Nathan find for new polo tee and hoodie. haha. quite farnie, cause we looked like 3 mothers shopping for their small boy's clothes.

There was this stall where we spotted this nice looking red polo tee and Nathan liked it too. He is damn cute when he bargains cause he has sooo many dramatic facial expressions, haha. i think the shoplady was at wit's end when the whole group of us started pleading with her to lower the price. thank goodness i'm not her, it would have been quite a scary and claustrophobic experience being surrounded and trapped by a group of persistent "cheapskates (cause we kept bargaining for just a $1 cheaper!)", haha.

dreaming of the blue domes

just got home from my interior design course. am damn tired and my back is aching from the strenous weight of my bag and the whole lotta walking i've been doing these past few days. so glad it's friday tomorrow, at least i don't hafta carry the tons of textbks around.

anyway, i'm gonna take a break from blogging about my daily activities for a while. i just wanna ogle and gush in sheer delight of the most gorgeous place in the entire world: Greece! lolx, after hearing so much about graduation trips these days, i just couldn't stop myself from checking out potential places i wanna visit!

Number 1 choice: Greece

it is located in southern Europe and the beauty of Greece lies in it's geographical landscape with its mountainous mainland & idyll island beaches.
the one place i MUST visit is Santorini, with it's white-washed houses, blue-domed churches, narrow alleys and a vast expanse of vivid blue sea. i wana watch the legendary sunsets in Oia, where the sunsets are said to be the most beauitful, at least in that part of the world.

Isn't everything so pleasurable to the eye??? And the place is filled with jewellery and art & craft stores. So dainty and tranquail. i almost wish i was a greek.

Oh! and there's even a live volcano there which visitors are allowed to visit!! WhOA! how awesome is that?!!

Santorini isn't the only picturesque area in Greece, the entire country seems to belong to a postcard and not real-life. Another place which would be really great for a short visit is Kefalonia. It's one of the small islands of Greece.

And what's a trip to Greece, without visiting the place of origins for the Olympians! Welcome to Athens! Equally breath-taking!

Guards changing their posts, quite funny actually...

There's so many other landscapes in Greece that belong to the cover page of a magazine rather than an actual location. Honestly, I'd die a happy woman if my last days were spent in this extraordinary country. i really really wana go here at least once in my lifetime, lolx, maybe i should leave it to my honeymoon! hurhur.

First Second choice (i know, there's no such thing as a first second choice, but i wanna go here as much as i wanna go Greece!): USA! there's no need for pictures really, everyone knows what America looks like, it's more for shopping and the experience of being in the most powerful country of present times.

Third choice (not exactly a graduation trip option, lolx, cause it'd be tooo short and boring...nah, who am i kidding? I'd probably hafta starve for the next 2 years of my life in order to buy me a trip there): Bora Bora Island
omg. don't even get me started on how blue this beach is...i was wondering where exactly this island is and whaddya know, it's right smack in the middle of the pacific ocean!! omg. no wonder it's so blue.

what is Santorini compared to Bora Bora??
Like a lil' midget beside an etheral goddess. Bora Bora is a paradise on Earth.

Okay, i shall stop here because i am starting to sound like a travel catalogue and also cause i think i might start bawling in tears at the thought of being trapped in Singapore and not swimming in the Pacific Ocean, or riding donkeys in Greece or shopping in Soho New York or being chased by lions and zebras in Namibia(South Africa)... ...yes, oddly, that actually sounds more appealing to me than being in Singapore. lolx.

Please support my bro!!!

SUPPORT MY BRO AT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk4GSSF_RGo!

he joined this science buskers festival and it was announced last sunday that he got into the finals! whee! please view his video and rate his video 5 stars! lolx. even though the video is not that good and it doesn't exactly show the experiements they did but still.... do support! cause this sat's finals will be featured on TV!

-----------------------------

On another note,

the man of my heart is coming to town!!

WHO??!!

JASON MRAZ is coming to SINGAPORE!!!!!! oh my, i could hyperventilate this very second.

5th MARCH!!!

i can't wait.

and tickets are on sale!!! Anyone interested???!!! Tickets are going for $75,$85,$100,$125(i think) & $145!

Not cheap but definitely worth it!

---------------------
Lolx, now that i'm done with my advertisments, here's what i did yesterday! went down to science centre to support my lil' bro and check out all the other exhibits! my bro made this tesla coil thing that looked uber dangerous, apparantly it can create lightning sparks, i saw the pictures and i was horrified that they made something so dangerous! definitely lethal in close proximity. they also made this very dangerous laser pointer that could burst a balloon and light a matchstick just by pointing at it. all i can say is that my bro & his fwen have sick minds.

scary.

we each had 2 coloured balls to give to the exhibits that we supported, and obviously both of mine went to my bro's booth! NUS High brought a whole bus load of students to support their people. GRRR! CANNOT LOSE!

felt so intellectual yesterday, checking out the robots made by the SP kids, and the air cannons and bubble machines. haha. quite fun and interesting actually. i am such a nerd.

after which, my ex-colleague picked me up and we headed down to PRIVE bakery for brunch! we were supposed to go the the saddle club and watch ponies and horses but they had a pte function that day :( sobz. there goes my horse watching...another time then!

anyway, it was nice to go Keppel Bay in the daytime too, sitting back and enjoying the sea breeze. I loved the fluffy pancakes that SR treated me too! Yums yums. haha. yes. MORE pics of food. ahem, if you've got a problem, just don't read my blog.

she told me more about work at BIG 4 and gave me alot of insights on my future working life. i am quite terrified as of now. Imagine working from 9am-10pm for 16days straight, that includes both sat & sun!! omg. i am soooo not looking forward to it. i am more convicted now to enjoy the rest of of university days!!!

it was a lovely day :)
