back to mandai zoo! - friday 12th Dec

as i said i went to mandai zoo on friday with my pretty gals, Jieshan & Mich!! Jieshan had free tickets so we got in for free :) i love free things. i am such a typical Singaporean. Thanks jieshan for the free tics!! Too bad jess couldn't make it though :(

me, jieshan & mich! My friends are so pretty right?!! Mich is a model and she did a advertisement for ocbc bank before!

we saw alot of monkeys that day. seriously, someone should send a complaint letter to the zoological gardens about the over abundance of monkeys. literally half the animals there belonged to the monkey kingdom, e.g. orang utans, apes, chimpanzees!

Monkeys are ugly. period. i can't believe evolutionists believe that humans evolved from this ugly creatures. God would never create us in the image of orang utans.

and we saw sooo many animals shitting that day. soooo unlucky. first, the hippo shitted right in front of us. we were shocked when we saw the amount of poo. looked alot like human diarrhoea because it was all watery and err...yellow-brown??? eeeks. why the heck did i even describe the hippo's poo??!!! that's not the only animal faeces we saw that day, we saw the deer shit, the elephant shit, etc.

the zoo seems sooo much smaller than what i remembered it was though, we managed to comb nearly 3/4 of the zoo in 2+hrs? i think the last time i've been to the zoo was probably years back, i remember going with jess and i vaguely remember the bats flying over our heads.

i think this is called a tapir. but i could be wrong.

the white tiger. really gorgeous creature. i like cats and the kinda mysterious aura around them. but i was kinda scared the white tiger would jump out of its enclosure and pounce onto me, because of the previous case of the white tiger attacking the zoo keeper. despite the bad media reports on the killer incident, there were still plenty of people happily taking pictures of the tiger. shows how insignificant someone's life can be, one moment someone can get killed in the area and few days/weeks later, tourists still come flooding to the very same area, fascinated over the creature that fatally attacked and killed an innocent being just days before. i really don't want my life to be insignificant. i know i know, i'm sounding terribly emo all of a sudden.

these are some things that are made from the elephants' ivory tusks. an example of animal cruelty. it is heavily restricted now though. the tusks are actually long incisor tooth of the elephant, but why the heck is it outside the elephant's mouth is beyond my comprehension... ...
maybe it can use its tusks as chopsticks, you know, use them to pick up trees to munch on or something...

look at the size of the elephant's skull!! haha, jieshan's face is not even 1/100th of the elephant.

zebras!! i love zebra stripes and the whole hallucinating effect about them! seeing zebras reminds me of magadascar (what a great animation!). I learnt a very interesting fact from Jieshan that day, apparantly zebras are one of the few big creatures that cannot be domesticated because they get agitated in the presence of a human. interesting huh? i always thought they were like brothers to horses except they're the more flambouyant sidekick to the horse.

it turned out to be a nice, short trip to the zoo and we ended our tour around 5pm. surprisingly, it wasn't as tiring as i thought it would be cause of the good weather. it was definitely nostalgic being back in the zoo, almost like a pri school excursion all over again :)
