carnival at o school

Phew. the past few days have been prettyyy busy with tons and tons of things to do! the week has past by like a whirlwind and it's already sat! or sunday since it's 1.47am right now. i just got back from the incredible carnival at old school today. it's organised by our subzone in chc and it was fantastic!! as you might already have known, i've been busy the past few nights practising for my drama performance today. and you know what, i think the drama team did a great great job!! we rocked the house today!!! Feel the fury!!

Yesterday, after going to the zoo with jieshan & mich, i went down to orchard to meet lilian and jasmine to get the materials for the posters and i was busy making the Photography booth's poster the night before that i didn't have the time to blog about my zoo trip!! Today, i had to rush down for drama rehearsals at 12pm at smu concourse. we did a couple of reruns (this is grossly understated) before heading down to old school for the carnival at 3pm!! I helped lilian and jasmine blow the black balloons!! what a awesome colour! black balloons are so friggin' cool.

Went to check out the food booth and the CREATE room where the "Record-Breaking" booth, Photography booth and Make-over booth were at. and took tons of photos before getting ready for our performance. we did a total of 3 performances at every 1 hr interval. The performance was fantastic, we were immersed in our roles and you could feel the fury and anger when we all started mulling Myrna (the student who is troubled by problems like lover(jirong), money(me),drunkard(chew yan), vainity in the form of a model(jac) and death(sean)). The gist of the whole performance is that God gave us life and renewal but through life, the student is constantly faced with lots of problems and as a result, will become distracted from God. However, God will ultimately deliver us from all this problems and protect us for God loves us and He is our mighty Saviour!

Food Booth!! Yen, the multi-talented, made super nice looking wraps that will give Subway a run for its money, Don and Adeline made delicious hotdogs and Charmaine made yummy muffins, she's sooo good at all this baking stuff! (whhoops, i think i made a mistake, it was kelly who made them...) They were also selling sour plum juice and cocktail juice!

White Room! Where all the band and acoustic performances were held :) The lyrical jazz workshop and salsa workshop was also held there! Work it people!

And of course, the powerhouse rock star, Erika! My gosh, her voice is so powerful and low. Erika has the stage presence of a veteran musician. She's a bona fide star!

CREATE ROOM!! The "Chubby Bunny" contest was held here. Myrna stuffed an amazing 9 pieces of marshmallows into her mouth, she is super good, haha. The winner of the entire contest stuffed about 11peices?? The contest was quite gross, cause you see the guy's saliva going down their fingers as they try as hard as they can to stuff their mouths with marshmallows. Everyone was cheering and going "eeewww" at the same time. haha.

Meet JO! My funky and pretty ex-roomie and bedmate, haha. She was supposed to hold a solo acoustic performance too but it was cancelled last minute. But we still held an "exclusive" gig for her solo performance though! She is such a great singer and guitarist, i miss singing along with her through the wee hours of the night!!!

Lemme introduce you our drama team!! RAWR!

First off, Yang Hong as super strong and mighty Christ Jesus! haha, he looks like a rich indian man with the golden robe lar. But he looks kinda holy with the spot light shining against his golden robe hor? lolx. YH is also our wonderful director too!! and catwalk extraordinaire, hurhur.

Jirong(left) as the good-looking "lover"! He dances salsa and can shake like nobody's business, lolx. I will forever remember the scene where YH and Jirong tried to teach Jac how to strike model poses and YH with his catwalk!! omg. classic. like a scene outta America's Next Top Model! Hello, our Singapore's version of Ms J. hahaha....

Myrna(right, duh.) as the main character, which is the tortured student. She is a super awesome actress and can cry at the snap of a finger. seriously. she can be on par with Fann Wong, Felicia Chin and all the other mediacorp actress. She'll beat them all hands down! Though, there's one thing that she can't control, that's when i accidentally "gu chi" her during the mulling scene, hahaha....she'll end up laughing instead of looking tortured!

Me as "money" where i simply acted like a bitch (i think it comes completely naturally, haha) and throw money on the floor like i'm some rich towkay neo, lolx.

Sean as the psychotic "Death"! Love the phantom of the opera mask, makes you wana piss in your pants, okay, not that scary. If he added lipstick, he would have become Joker's twin brother already! Sean, sean, who punched you in the eye??! hehe.

Chew Yan(left) as the drunkard!! chew is like the sweetest looking drunkard i've ever seen! Can you spot her beer bottle??

Jac(right) as the ultra glam yet bitchy model! She did a great job giving off the bitchy vibe with her catty poses! During rehearsals, YH made her bring soo many clothes for wardrobe fitting. She had to change in and out of gowns, leggings, dresses, etc. Jac has like tons and tons of clothes and i absolutely love her shoe collection! She's like the fashionista in our team!

And there's also our very efficient stage manager, Joanne!! She created the innovative black & white top for myrna. and got us the gun and all the other props!
