melt the world cafe & dbl 0

yesterday, kh treated me to a 21st birthday meal at the super glam mandarin oriental! it was an international buffet at melt the world cafe (one of the best buffets in singapore!!). i especially loved the dessert bar where they served all kinds of mousse cakes, tiramisus, mango puddings in tiny cocktails cups. and then there was the especially delicious chocolate avalanche(that's not the name, i just decided to call it that) which is basically chocolate brownie and melted hot chocolate inside. omg. super sinful. and then there was a western bar, chinese bar, indian bar, jap bar, etc. i kept eating the salmon sashimi and smoked salmon cause i was in the urge for salmon! i think i possibly ate a week's worth of food at the buffet. the only slight complain that i have is that there wasn't seafood!! they only serve seafood during dinner!! but i couldn't make it for dinner because of drama rehearsals, sianz!!! my seafood!!! but at the cost of 80+bucks per person. i had to eat as much as i could! if not so paiseh, waste his money :s but it was really good actually, so i didn't really hafta force myself to eat, i easily ate wiped out 4plates worth of main fares and loads of desserts. we ate till the buffet time was over, lolx.

i didn't know it was that pricey at first. it was only until i saw the bill, i got abit of a shock. Initially, when i asked how much the meal was, i guessed it was around 40bucks, or 30+bucks(honestly, it didn't seem like it was that ex). and he simply said "no where near". i only found out it cost 160+bucks for 2 people after the whole buffet!! it's like the most expensive buffet i've ever eaten. i was like a country bumpkin, going around with my cam and taking shots of the buffet.

my pink guava juice costed $12 friggin' bucks!! seriously, they should just go rob the bank. it was just plain guava juice! not even a tinge of alcohol in it and yet they charge it at the price of alcohol.

Thanks kh for the wonderful lunch buffet!! i think he's definitely treated alot of us in hall before, sometimes i do feel that because he's so generous (always offering rides and supper), people might just take it for granted (not proud to say this, but that includes me :s). He's definitely been a good pal and a bro that i look up to, and he's getting married, so happy for him!!! Congrats Congrats!!! He's the first personal friend that i know who's getting married, lolx, i wonder what it'd be like to attend a friend's wedding. now if only he can start introducing me to his other rich, single, pilot friends...haha.

We headed down to peninsula plaza after the buffet cause i wanted to check out guitars. i looked around and found a 215bucks takamine acoustic guitar that sounded nt bad. but i wasn't too sure about splurging so much on a guitar all of a sudden. so i decided to take more time to think through before spending and i need jo to help me test the sound too. cause i am such a noob.

After randomly browsing around peninsula plaza, we went down to hall to collect his hall keys. the hall staff saw me in his car and asked him "oh! that's the professor's daughter right??" then another staff said, "Sandra Ng right?" omg. i can't believe they remembered my dad's a prof. i then told kh that it's probably cause my dad argued with the hall staff over some issues about my lost keys and to my horror, kh said,

"No wonder he(the hall staff) said that this year batch very nice and friendly but the last batch of hall students wasn't very nice, for e.g. got stuck up parents who come and complain!!"

"He asked 'you know how much the hall keys cost right? be careful arhz, don't lose it!'"

omg. seems to be referring to me la. super embarrassing. stupid hall staff. i didn't get my dad to complain with you can. and i was very nice and friendly to you lo.

We then headed down to queensway to get some stuff before i left for drama rehearsal! another tiring session and we had to really step up since sophie came. Sophie used to act in the previous drama and she was very helpful such that she's very detailed. She corrected our mistakes and overall, the session was very fruitful. we were able to completely immerse in our characters. and myrna, if you're reading this, i just wanna say that you're such a great actress and i'm very very impressed with your determination! cause i know both of us are not very athletic people, yet you managed to push yourself to your limits and endured the bruises and falls that was required for a more realistic performance. You are indeed my role model! even jirong, who tried to play your part in the mulling scene, was tired out after 1 attempt! Myrna power!!

After rehearsals, i went to dbl o with addy! It's been quite a while since i last clubbed! we were supposed to meet farrah there as well, but she was already drunk at zouk. we then saw lynette, jiamin & their jc clique. so we ended up partying with them. we met some guys at the club too. they are working as engineers right now and were previously from NUS. One of them, Terence, was super touchy, i couldn't stand it. What i hated even more was that he kept making us drink (a lousy attempt at getting us drunk. We're university grads, we're not dumb secondary school students. Mister, you're not gonna get laid anytime soon.) i pretended to take a sip each time he passed on the cup of alcohol. I knew i wouldn't be able to keep sain if i drank any further, i was already abit nauseasted from the shot of tequila and red bull +vodka that i drank when i first entered the club. yes. i am that lousy a drinker. His friend was a bit more decent. But we didn't wanna hang out with them after some point oftime, so we left for the toilet in order to escape from them. That night, i tink both of us got pretty high and wasted. we left the club around 3am and went to the riverside to take in some fresh air and talk nonsense. we then slept in backseat of the car for like 2hrs in order for us to regain soberity. it was kinda funny cause i was so worried about carbon monoxide poisoning that i kept asking addy to wind down the windows and turn off the car power. even when i was dizzy and sleepy. i think i was being super paranoid! but in a way i guess it showed that i was still pretty sain. lolx. cause i was soo worried of dying. i remember climbing over the window to take in the outside air every once in a while just in case. when we woke up, it was already 6am so we went over to KAP's mac donalds to get breakfast cause we were starving. it's been ages since i got up at such an unearthly hour and ate mac's breakfast! by the time i got home, it was 7+am. Addy stayed over for a while before leaving around 10am. (more photos to come...)
